This Mother’s Day weekend, take your family on the ultimate outdoor adventure in the heart of downtown Reno. Grab your bikes and follow a live mobile band while you tour the streets of downtown. Fly high above the record rapids of the Truckee River on the Zip Line. Watch world-renowned athletes take on the whitewater park. Want to take some time for yourself? Have dad take the little ones to the Adventure Park while you sit back and sip wine in your VIP seat of the concerts in the park. The River-Bike-Music-Adventure-Taste Fest kicks-off on Saturday, May 13th with the Reno River Roll. Presented by Velofix, the Roll is one of the largest, most unique, family-friendly bike rides in Northern Nevada. The costumed, 7-mile slow tour is led by a live mobile band, sponsor teams, a police escort, and more. It launches from the Virginia Street Bridge, tours along the Truckee River, and ends in the heart of the Reno River Festival with a costume contest on the main stage. The Reno River Roll is the new official start to Bike Week in the Truckee Meadows.
The new Summer Wine Village features more than two dozen summer wines, champagnes, sangrias, and other delectable drinks. A half dozen artists will perform live while you sip wine in the shaded-village. Presented by Chaco Footwear, the full-scale music festival within the River Festival is the best music line-up to-date and features nationally recognized artists including headliners Brooke Eden and American Young. Tickets to the Summer Wine Village include an ample number of generous samples and a commemorative acrylic wine glass.
Do you prefer craft beer? From hoppy IPAs to tangy ciders, select breweries showcase a wide range of more than two dozen beers at the Craft Beer Village. Set on the peninsula peak, the Village boasts a one-of-a-kind view of the festival’s whitewater competitions. Tickets include more than a dozen generous samples, a commemorative cup, and a full glass of your favorite craft beer.
The Reno-Tahoe USA Adventure Park boasts thrills for everyone and, in 2017, has the most rides, obstacles, games and challenges ever. You can soar through the air on the Zip Line, take a spin on the teacups, climb to the top of the Mega Rock Wall, swing in the pirate ship, flip on the Mega Trampoline Bungee, test your skills on a carnival game, and let the kids go wild in one of the many bounce houses.
The festivities also include dozens of food and drink vendors, more than 100 shops, Themed Kids Dress-Up Days, and a Mother-Daughter Look-A-Like Contest.
The Reno River Festival is Saturday, May 13th and Sunday, May 14th in Wingfield Park. The festival is in conjunction with Dolan Auto Group, Coors Light, and several non-profits.
